15 – A Visionary Weekend

I have never liked museums.

They have always been a hot tourist destination, but what about something other than your typical history/ art museum that just seems to be full of room after room of pictures on the walls in the same gold, metal frame. Not that those classic museums cannot be entertaining, but what if you want to go somewhere other than a place middle school students may field trip to? What if you want to go to a fun museum.

The American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, Maryland offers the perfect spot for your next weekend hang out. Located on Key Highway in the shadows of Federal Hill, the AVAM offers a corky spot to spend time with their interactive exhibits, spend hours searching through the strange finds in the gift shop, and even hang out on the top floor which offers a restaurant and bar.

Afterwards you can take a stroll on Federal Hill for spectacular views of the Inner Harbor, and eat at some of Baltimore’s most famous restaurants a short walk away.
